NFL training camp schedule is out and it’s not what you expected

By Chris Maragos, Bleacher Blog NFL training camps have been hard to get into this year, and with the offseason coming to a close, the time has come for the preseason to come to an end.

With all of the roster shuffles and offseason-ready games, it’s a time to take a look back at how things went, how things could have been, and what could have gotten worse for the 2017 NFL Draft class.

With all of that said, here’s a look at the NFL preseason schedule in 2017:The first two weeks of training camp are Thursday and Saturday, and the first two games are Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys and Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The first two preseason games are also in Dallas, which is always a good thing.

In all, the Cowboys are scheduled to host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3.

Week 1 vs. CowboysThe Cowboys will be playing in the second preseason game, at the University of Texas, at 7 p.m.

ET on Thursday night.

The Cowboys will also host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2, at 8 p.s.m., and the New Orleans Saints in Week 4, at 10 p.a.m.; the New York Giants are hosting the San Diego Chargers in Week 5, at 4:30 p.o.m, and Jacksonville will host the Denver Broncos in Week 6, at 3:30 a.m; and the Seattle Seahawks are hosting Dallas in Week 7, at 2:30a.p.m.[*UPDATE: The game will be played at 7:30p.t., not 7:00p.o., as originally reported.]

The second preseason matchup will be against the New England Patriots, at 6 p.p., at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots will host New Orleans in Week 8, at 5 p.t. and the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, at noon.

In all, there are six games scheduled this year.

The final game is at 5:30pm ET on Friday night, when the Pittsburgh Panthers are scheduled for a preseason game at the Meadowlands in Arlington, Texas.

That game will also be in Dallas.

The next three weeks of preseason games include the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Phillies in Week 10, the Washington Redskins in Week 11, and a preseason tilt with the Dallas Redskins in Weeks 12 through 16.

The final preseason game is against the Miami Dolphins, who are scheduled in Week 17 at the Alamodome in Houston, Texas, for a pregame game at 1 p.y. on Saturday.
